NOFO Farmer's Market

Today was our first trip to the farmer's market in NOFO's parking lot in Five Points. There was a simple selection that satisfied all of our food procuring needs: strawberries, honey, breads, scones, eggs, fish, leafy produce, meats, and lots of local sparkle. After securing all of our goods, we rushed home to put together and to taste the fruits of Saturday morning marketing.

We gathered all of our ingredients and created an amazing sandwich on a base of sourdough bread. Whole grain mustard for a bite. Honey glazed ham. Honey chevre to bridge the flavors. Fresh arugula from New Grass Gardens Produce for nuttiness. Crushed pink peppercorns for a little bit of breathy heat. Love.

The sourdough was from Yellow Dog Bakery at the farmer's market. It was soft and crusty with a mild flavor, just like it should be.

We also got a maple bacon scone from the same place...which was delicious.

We thought it could still use a little something from Smith Strawberries and Nursery.

Presto! The perfect strawberry shortcake-like end to a delicious Saturday meal.

Yeah...we liked it.
